My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mayo and Mustard are precious, well-mannered kitties who are eagerly looking to add some flavor into your life! This brother and sister duo with beautiful matching fur coats love to keep each other company. After extended playtime and zoomies, they get ready for nap time while grooming each other clean.

Mayo is a charming and friendly boy with a signature purr-drool combo that can be unlocked via a few head scratches. He was diagnosed with FIP in September 2024 but after receiving life-saving treatment, he is back in full health! Even throughout the difficult course of treatment, Mayo never lost his positive spirit and penchant for belly rubs.

Mustard is a spitting image of her brother except in her petite size. She may take a tiny bit longer to come out of her shell (stranger danger!!), but once you befriend her, she won’t miss any chance to climb onto your lap and flop over to get her share of belly rubs! She may be a little wary of sudden movements, but that’s just because she’s a smart, sensible girl.

Mayo and Mustard are searching for their perfect forever home together. Apply to adopt these gorgeous babies today! We are happy to further discuss any questions you may have around their medical history.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
