My son and I are heartbroken with the need to find a more suitable home for our dog Denver. My son has launched the nest, and I have a different job that requires me to travel extensively.

Denver is a stereotypical golden retriever. He is four years old, pure bred, neutered and up to date on all vaccines. He has no special health needs other than diet and room to roam.

Ideally, he would be in a home with another dog or dogs, and have some acreage, if possible. Alternatively, if there is an athletic family, that would be great as well.

He has never had surgery or required hospitalization other than being neutered.

He is very sweet, not aggressive, but will alert us to anyone who comes around the house. At times he can act like a livestock guardian and protecting his home. He has never harmed anyone nor would he. He is a sweet boy and very relaxed.

He deserves a better home than what I can give him.
