My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Joey, a dog who exudes a quiet charm that quickly endears her to everyone she meets. Despite her shy nature, she has a heart full of love and a spirit eager to connect. Joey`s sweetness is palpable, making her a calming presence in any room. She`s friendly too, and while it might take her a moment to warm up, once she does, you`ve got a loyal friend for life. She`s the type of dog who would rather spend her days snuggled up with you, sharing in your everyday moments. Why should you adopt Joey? Because her gentle, loving nature promises to transform any house into a home filled with warmth and unconditional love.

More about this shelter

We are an open admissions shelter, meaning we take in homeless animals regardless of age, breed, health, temperament or lack of space. On average, we take in about 5,500 stray, surrendered and abandoned animals per year including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles. We provide adoption services to find safe, happy homes for these pets; and also provide low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics to help safeguard them against illness or being lost forever.
