My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Rockette was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on January 7, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Rockette! This sweet and shy girl is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can feel safe and comfortable. Rockette is fearful at first, so she'll need a family that respects her boundaries and allows her to warm up at her own pace. Once she gets to know you, she enjoys being pet and will show her playful side. Rockette is used to living with other dogs and feels more confident and social around them, so she's looking for a furry friend in her new home. She's holding out for a quiet environment without the hustle and bustle of young children, where she can relax and blossom at her own pace. If you're patient, loving, and ready to help Rockette come out of her shell, she could be the perfect companion for you!

At SDHS:
Rockette has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Rockette is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
