This high-energy girl is always on the move, loving nothing more than to run, jump, and play with her furry friends. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious, and she’s sure to keep you entertained with her playful antics!
Dottie is a social butterfly and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her an ideal companion for playdates and trips to the dog park. She’s also completely indifferent to cats, so if you have feline friends, Dottie will happily coexist with them!
One of Dottie’s favorite pastimes is playing with stuffed and crinkly toys. She loves to collect them and pile them up on her bed, creating her very own toy kingdom. When she’s not busy playing, you’ll often find her burrowing herself in blankets or snuggling into cozy dog beds, showcasing her adorable, cuddly side.
Dottie has had no accidents in her foster home, so should pick up on new routines quickly! While she can get a little mouthy during playtime, she is easily redirected and learns quickly. It's worth noting that Dottie does exhibit some resource guarding over food, so it’s recommended to feed her separately to ensure a peaceful mealtime.

- If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.
- Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance. We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
- The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.

- Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.
- A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs. Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive. From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs.
