My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Bailey, and I am a 3 year old unaltered male who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. I am a great boy with lots of love to give to a special family. I am very sweet, but can be a little shy when I meet new people. I am very curious and love to explore, so having a yard to call my own would be a dream come true! I would prefer to be the only dog in the home, as I am not sure how I feel about other dogs. The staff feels that I would benefit from a home with older children. I am healthy and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. My dream home is a quiet one, where I can relax and take life at my own pace. If you think that you could offer me a loving home, please come and meet me!

More about this shelter

We make every effort to find homes for every animal in our care. When our shelter is over-crowded, we rely on a network of "foster families" to take care of our pets. All the while, we have increased our efforts to "get the word out" about our pets (e.g. this website, pictures, newspaper publicity, etc.) Our efforts pay off.

The Staff and Board of Directors at the Humane Society love pets, and our actions bear out that simple fact. Our animal guests get the very best care while they are with us.

Please help! We need volunteers to help us exercise the dogs. We try to walk the dogs each day to provide them with the exercise and attention they so desperately need. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like. If you would be interested in helping us care for our animal guests, please call the shelter at 814-443-2121.
