Hi there! I'm Ava, and I'm looking for my forever home! I’m just 1 year old and 47 lbs of pure sweetness (and a little mischief). I may have had a rough start in life, but you’d never know it from my gentle, loving nature. I came to my foster family with road rash and open wounds—I was likely hit by a car or dragged behind one, but don’t worry, I’m a healthy gal despite the tough times I’ve been through. I’m also still the kind of dog who believes in people and gives all my love to anyone who will give me a little attention in return.

I’m still learning the ropes (like sitting and house training), but I’m doing great with my crate training—it’s my cozy, safe space where I love to curl up and relax. My foster family tells me I’m a low-energy cuddle bug, and honestly, they’re right. I’m happiest when I’m lounging around, getting belly rubs, and snuggling up close to the people I trust. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you catch me carrying around slippers or shoes—I don’t chew on them, but I do love having them nearby to curl up with. I get along great with other dogs and would love to join a family with furry siblings. I’m still a little timid and shy considering all I have been through, but I’m warming up more and more every day. I’ll be the kind of dog who bonds with you so hard, you won’t be able to shake me off, but I’m so cute, why would you want to? When I feel safe and comfortable, I can be a playful little puppy! I even get the zoomies when it’s mealtime, and it’s the cutest thing to watch. I may need a little patience as I learn to trust, but once I do, I promise you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion for life.
