My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for some cluck-tastic companions? Meet our flock of 20 sweet, cheerful hens! These gals are friendly, funny and always ready to brighten your day with their chicken antics.

The scoop on the coop crew!

Personality: full of charm! They are the queens of cute!

Hobbies: Dust bathing like its a spa day, scratching around for treats and devouring all the mealworms they can find!

Health: They have been thriving and slowly gaining weight after coming to us being on the thin side.

Special Talent: Egg-laying extraordinaires!

Whether you're ready for a flock or just a few, these ladies are happy to settle into their new homes in smaller groups if preferred. All they need is a cozy coop, space to roam and a steady supply of snacks! They'll greet you with their cheerful clucks and keep your yard pest free!

Don't let these egg-ceptional hens miss their chance to find a new roost on your farm! Put in an application today if you think you could provide a home for these feathered friends!

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
