My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, everyone! Welcome to my profile.

I am a gentle soul, soaking up all of the affection I can get, as you can see in my videos. I also love to cuddle right NEXT to you.

I came to Big Bones Canine Rescue from Tijuana, Mexico via a transport from California. I was very sick and injured when I was found in Mexico in July 2024, but I was nursed back to health and then recently came to Colorado in January 2025. My foster family gives me lots of love and I am soaking it all up.

I am enjoying hanging out with my foster siblings who are all about my size (I am needing a weight check, but am about 13 lbs.). I recently enjoyed my first socialization outing to Lowe's and got to meet a few new people. I am told we will be taking me to the mall to see how I do with more people, kids. My foster family is also going to see how I do with bigger dogs and kitties. Oh, I just discovered toys so that is FUN!

Update on the mall and kids: I did really well and actually thoroughly enjoyed checking out the sights and exploring the new place. I enjoyed taking the bribery, I mean hot dogs, from kids as well as their pets.

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
