My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Penny arrived:
Penny was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team.

Why Penny is the one for you:
Penny is a sweet senior kitty who's looking for a loving home to spend her golden years! Penny is very social with her humans, and has the most fantastic purr. She is surprisingly agile in her old age, and loves to trot around the house. She is almost always a tail-up, happy cat who loves to be in the company of people. Penny is calm and gentle and is looking for a home that can match her laid-back energy. She may prefer to be the only cat in the home so she can soak up all the love and attention! She does have some health issues that come with being a senior, but they aren't slowing her down! If you're ready to give this sweet gal the peaceful home she deserves, email her foster parent at cjkeith459@gmail.com today!

At SDHS:
Penny has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
