Why this pet is the one for you:
Say hi to Luffy! An energetic pup who needs an exercise buddy, this puppy is friendly with humans and is open to making friends with other dogs. Puppies benefit from structure and positive re-enforcement training to help them be the absolute best dogs that they can be. Puppies are energetic and confident with the right boost, ready to explore the world with their new family at their side! They adjust well to households with other animals, and give you an early start with your canine on training to be a good canine citizen. Puppies do a crucial amount of development before 16 weeks. It's vital to positively expose them to as many new things as possible, to build their confidence in the world around them. Socialization towards people, places, and things with the help of treats and play will help your puppy bravely approach the world when they are older. Our adoption counselors can set you up for success with employing positive reinforcement training from the start.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
