What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I’m making this post on behalf of my father, who no longer wants Astro. My father adopted Astro 2-3 years ago, seeking companionship. However, he did not do his research on boxers and their energy levels. He was expecting a very laidback dog, and is not willing to meet Astro’s needs. Instead of catering to Astro (taking him on walks, playing with him, etc), he keeps Astro in his kennel all day every day, and doesn’t let him roam the house anymore. At this point, I don’t even think Astro is “high energy.” I think he’s just stir crazy from being pent up in his kennel all of the time. Also, my father does not know how to potty train him and isn’t attentive enough to let him outside to use the bathroom when he needs to go. As a result, Astro ends up defacating and urinating in his cage often. PLEASE help me find this sweet boy a more suitable and loving home. All of the shelters nearby are full.
