Mya, also known as MyMy, is a stunning 6-year-old dog who will steal your heart with her smarts, love of cuddles, and quirky charm. She’s an affectionate, well-behaved, and deeply loyal girl ready to find her forever family.
About Mya:
• Housetrained: 100%! She’ll whine at the door if she needs to go out.
• Crate Trained: Her crate is her safe space, but she panics if locked in when left alone. She’s trustworthy outside of the crate when home alone.
• Non-Destructive: Mya never chews on furniture or belongings, but she can’t resist a trash bin unless it has a baby lock on it!
• Quiet Companion: While she barked from anxiety initially when she got to the new home, she’s now quiet and content once comfortable in her home.
• Commands Known: Sit, wait, come, and crate—Mya listens exceptionally well.
Her Perfect Day:
Mya loves a mix of leisurely naps and adventures! She adores car rides (they’re her absolute favorite) and goes to work with her foster dad every day. She’s a big foodie who’s always ready for a pup cup or peanut butter treat, and after a nice walk or hike, she’s happy to snuggle up for a long, cozy nap.
On the foster’s farm, Mya doesn’t bother the goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, or even the neighbor’s horses. She would do great on a farm and enjoys peacefully exploring fenced areas or staying close to her people in open spaces.
Compatibility:
• Dog Friendly: We believe Mya would do fine with a submissive male dog in the home, but needs food and treats kept separate to avoid resource guarding. She’s great with all dogs outside of her home. She’s just had issues with the dominant female in her current home and they’ve gotten into it a few times, so that’s the only reason why she needs a new home.
• Cat Friendly: Yes! She mostly ignores them, but might sniff them when curious.
• Kid Friendly: Best with older kids who respect her space. She gets nervous with hugging or crawling, so no small children.
Temperament & Activity Level
Mya is a calm, medium-energy girl who enjoys sniffing around the yard and occasional bursts of playful energy. She’s leash-trained, making her a great walking, hiking, or even running partner. She’s not much of a player—she prefers staying by her person’s side rather than chasing toys—but every once in a while, she’ll chase her foster sister around.
Quirks & Needs:
• Collars: Mya dislikes wearing collars, possibly due to a history with shock collars and the occasional hot spots she gets from them, but she’s fine with them during walks. She may do better with a harness.
• Men: She can be wary of unfamiliar men in her home and needs proper corrections if she becomes reactive. She’s fine with men outside the home.
• Fenced Yard: A fenced yard would be ideal for her to explore and relax without her people worrying about her running off before she’s comfortable in her new home. Once she’s comfortable, she’s not going anywhere her people aren’t close to!
• Human Connection: Mya thrives on companionship and needs a home where she can be included in daily life. She’s happiest with someone who works from home or takes her along for adventures (including work outside of the home).

Mya is extraordinarily smart—her trainer ranks her among the most intelligent dogs he’s ever worked with. She’s also one of the most affectionate and cuddly dogs you’ll meet, once she trusts you. Her DNA test shows she’s a mix of 31% Australian Cattle Dog, 20% Great Pyrenees, 8% Labrador Retriever, 8% Chow Chow, and smaller percentages of 15 other breeds.
She listens attentively, loves being part of the family, and has a gentle, calm presence. Her combination of loyalty, intelligence, and snuggly nature makes her a one-of-a-kind companion.
Ideal Home for Mya
Mya would thrive in a calm, loving home with older kids or just adults. She needs a family willing to include her in their day-to-day activities and shower her with the affection and reassurance she craves. She’d do well as the only dog or maybe with a submissive male companion in the home.
Mya is spayed, heartworm negative (has been tested), current on monthly heartworm & flea/tick prevention, up to date on basic vaccines, microchipped, and has had a fecal negative test.
