The first time Angelica went on a walk with her foster mom, she was very hesitant. She would stop and try to turn around. Each day they made it a little further around the block. After a few days her foster mom decided to try going around the block in the other direction. Again, Angelica was hesitant. But suddenly, when they arrived at the spot they had stopped the day before coming from the opposite direction, Angelica's tail went up and she started eagerly trotting- she had recognized where she was and how to get back to the house! She is very perceptive of her surroundings and enjoys walks. Each time she is hesitant at first, but once she recognizes the path she is on leads back to where she started, she pulls you all the way home! She will completely stop and sit when she sees other dogs walking past. She will greet new humans nicely, though for men she usually gives a few barks before getting closer to politely meet. She gets along well with the resident dog, though Angelica still has big puppy energy so she is sometimes too energetic for the resident dog. Angelica is very good in the crate, quiet and no messes, though she will be vocal in the crate if she needs to do her business or gets hungry. She sleeps quietly in the crate overnight until she wakes up and wants breakfast or potty! Out of the crate she still is quite the puppy, she loves destroying stuffies, gently mouthing your hands and clothes, and counter surfing for snacks. While she is mostly house trained, she still needs frequent outside breaks to avoid accidents. Her foster family has worked to have her go out immediately after crate time or eating and treat her immediately after she does her pottying- she will run right over and sit at your feet after pottying, waiting for her treat! She loves to do zoomies and pounce on and thrash around her toys, and she loves a kong with peanut butter and treats stuffed in it. She has learned 'sit' and is very treat motivated, so this will come in handy for training and tricks! She loves people and definitely wants a human nearby, even when she is playing by herself outside! Angelica is a petite love bug and is waiting for that special person to call her family!

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.
If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org
Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
