Meet Iona – The Sweetheart Super Mama 💖

Iona’s story is one that tugs at the heartstrings. When she first came to the shelter, she was a young mama with no babies of her own, and no one knows what happened to them. But life had a different plan for her! Once she was pulled into a loving foster home, Iona found her true calling—she became the most incredible, loving mama to a tiny bottle-fed kitten in need. And when another little kitten friend joined the mix? No problem—she welcomed that one with open paws, too!

Iona is the kind of cat who gives love endlessly, whether to kittens or to humans. She adores being petted and will happily soak up every bit of affection you have to offer. With her gentle spirit and big, loving heart, Iona is ready to trade her mama duties for a forever home where she can finally be the one getting pampered.

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
