My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Did I catch your eye? Learn more about me by reading my profile below; I just might be your new best friend! Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule.

Age: Approximately 4 years old
Weight: 77 pounds
Dog friendly: Yes. She loves all dogs. However, she has an exuberant play style, so would do best with dogs who are comfortable with that.
Cat friendly: unknown
Kid friendly: Yes
Potty trained: Yes. She’ll sit by the door when she has to go out.
Crate trained: Yes. She runs into her crate happily. She lives to get a treat when she’s inside.

Teja (TAY-zha) is a sweet, gorgeous, affectionate pittie mix looking eagerly for her adoring forever family. Teja wants to be your pal, follow you around, and do whatever you do -  her happy place is right next to you or in your lap. She’s also comfortable being on her own and snuggling into a pile of blankets for a nap. She loves cuddles, pets, and kindly attention of any kind. She enjoys car rides and is up for whatever adventure you go on. She’s really smart and already knows sit, down, stay, and kennel.  You can ask her to sit when you want to put her leash on. She’s very cooperative and eager to please and everything is accompanied by butt wiggles. Teja has medium energy, is playful, and enjoys chewing on antlers and toys - however, she needs to be supervised with toys because she loves to tear them apart. She loves slow, sniffy walks and greeting people who want to stop and say “hi.” Her weight is a bit deceiving - she’s not a big dog, just blocky and dense with short legs. Nicknames include “Baby Hippo,” “Little Potato,” and “Baby Bunny;” her sweet demeanor and personality inspire terms of endearment. In some circumstances, she can be a little anxious but reassurances, gentle pets, and a treat help her understand that all is well. Come and meet this girl and you will fall in love.

**Note on breed and age determination:

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
