Meet this sweetie named ZZ aka Zaleah. ZZ originally came into the shelter as a 10 month old puppy back January 28, 2020. She has spent 3 and a half of her 5 years of being here in this shelter. It's time a loving home comes for her. She is 5 years old, fully vetted, house broken, and just a very special fun loving girl. She was adopted March 2023 by her original owner who then wasn't able to keep her and found her a home. This is where she met Rocky (her fur brother). This owner flew the coop to Colorado abandoning them on the property to fend for themselves for months. Later workers showed up to help with the repairs on the home and began to fed them. A Good Samaritan came to their rescue (after seeing Craig's list post) thinking she would be able to find them a home because they were such deserving and awesome dogs. Many months later (January 4, 2025) & no luck ZZ and Rocky are now in the shelter PRAYING to be adopted together. ZZ loves playing fetch with a ball and is very loyal. She got along with most all of the "temporary fosters" dogs. Though She despises squirrels and chickens. Playing is her favorite and once back inside she loves cuddling in a cozy blanket with her favorite person. She's capable of clearing a tall chain link fence if she sees something that sparks her curiosity. Can't be trusted alone. Since Rocky is there she hasn't even tried. They have a special bond with eachother. ZZ is super smart and very easy to love but she unfortunately hasn't found her true happily ever after. Maybe you are the perfect person for ZZ and her brother Rocky? Come to the shelter for a visit with these precious pups and be ready to fall in love.
If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting. No need to shuffle the animals around any more than necessary. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance.
The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home.
In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.

We do what we do because we love animals. We are realistic in in efforts, understand the problem and work towards educating the public on what needs to be done to prevent over population.
