Theodore, one of our three “Chipmunk” brothers, came to rescue with two adult females (one was their mom) and one adult male after being surrendered by a farmer. The dogs were wandering with other pups and some were not so lucky after being hit by cars. The three boys were very malnourished, weak, and lethargic to the point they could not receive vaccinations for a few weeks. Fast forward and Theodore, along with his brothers, has thrived! Now, about his personality… his gorgeous eyes will surely melt your heart! He loves to play with toys and other dogs. He currently shares his home with 8 other dogs and loves them all. He can often be found pulling toys out of the toy box or playing a game of chase in the backyard with the others. Theodore’s number one favorite LOVE is FOOD! This silly guy will happily show his approval when given a special treat, his jaw will tremble with excitement. Now, let’s talk whipped cream—if he hears anyone using it, he will bolt into the kitchen waiting for a squirt in his mouth. This boy can be a little more reserved, making strangers earn his love. He can also be funny, in a clumsy sort of way, when he runs and jumps and falls. This boy has a way of winning you over—nobody can stay mad at him. When he “gets in trouble” and is asked “what did you do” he brings out those eyes, and playfully swats with is paws saying “sorry, sorry, sorry, please don’t be mad at me.” Bedtime—he always is ready and one of the first to head upstairs where he sleeps quietly, waiting on his foster parents to wake up. This boy’s ideal home will have a secure, 5-foot fenced yard, another canine sibling and people who love and adore him and his silly, lovable self!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are:âڑ) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
