My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ferguson is a 10-year-old, 13.5-pound poodle mix with a heart full of love just waiting to bloom. This gentle soul was found in heartbreaking condition, alone and covered in mats, feces, and urine. Despite his rough start, Ferguson has already begun to show his sweet and tender personality. Though currently scared, he craves affection and kindness.

Ferguson is a true companion, getting along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children. He is crate trained, uses pee pads in the house, and is working on leash training. Although he seems to be blind, this doesn’t stop him from seeking comfort and connection with the people around him.

To ensure Ferguson’s golden years are his best, he will soon undergo a senior blood panel and a full dental cleaning. He’s ready to start his new chapter with a family who will give him the love and care he truly deserves.

If you’re looking for a loyal friend who just needs a little extra TLC to shine, Ferguson is the perfect match. Will you be the one to give him the forever home he’s been waiting for?

Adopt Ferguson and give him the life he’s always deserved.
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 14, 2025, 6:04 am

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
