Costa is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match!
Three-month-old Costa arrived a few weeks ago from Puerto Rico with his siblings! This little guy landed in an amazing foster home with both dogs and kids and we have learned lots about him in his time with them! Costa loves his dog siblings and is also great with the kids in the home! His dog siblings have really helped him work on housebreaking. He is still trying to master the crate and learn it's ok to be alone for a little bit, but with training, time, and patience he will get there! Costa can be on the shy side, but he loves a good cuddle and play time, so his adopter should be prepared to give him time to open up and feel confident! Like any puppy, an adopter should be prepared to work on basic training!
Costa's foster mom writes, "Costa is a speckly little fellow with adorable ears and the longest tail! He enjoys walks and playing outside with his foster brothers, and wearing his little red coat. He calls himself a hockey fan despite being known to sleep through a few buzzers. He loves chasing a ball in the house and pouncing on it like a fox hunting for mice in the snow! In the evenings, he can be found curled up with his foster mom on the couch. (He'd prefer to spend the night like this instead of in his crate next to his foster parents and the dogs!)"
Sweet Costa is ready to land in his forever home where he can blossom even more so inquire about him today!
Costa’s adoption fee is $400. This animal is neutered and is up to date on core vaccines appropriate for their age. He will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age.
