My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shel is a husky mix ( DNA test results available) who is as sweet as she is beautiful. She gets along great with other dogs and even cats, and is friendly with all humans too- she loves kids! Shel is currently around 65lbs but could stand to loose some weight. She does well on a leash and is completely housebroken. She also doesn’t need a crate when left alone- but does bark for a bit so apartments may not be the best. She knows sit, paw, and down.
This smart, sweet girl would do well with anyone- she loves being outside or cuddling up with her person.
She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?
