HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
---
- Super sweet lady who just wants to be close to you all day long; would love to be a big lap dog
- Very playful and enjoys her time outside, but is happy to cuddle up on the couch with you when it's time to come inside
- Already knows sit and stay and walks nicely on a leash
- Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home
- Can be nervous in new situations at first but does well with some gentle coaxing from people she trusts
- Appears to be potty trained, just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule and routine
- Loves spending time with other dogs and would likely enjoy a dog friend in her new home who has a similar play style
- Has shown curiosity towards guinea pigs in her home, but has not seemed obsessive or overly focused on them
- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her (mature home recommended)
- Has been diagnose with hip dysplasia and may have allergies (more info at ARL)
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
