My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Java! Java is a tall, lanky mixed breed who is ready to find the perfect home. His goofy nature is a guaranteed mood-lifter, and his boundless energy makes him the perfect companion for active individuals or families. He plays well with other dogs, but at this time we're not sure how he is with cats. While he's quite the entertainer, Java is also a quick learner, showing immense potential for training. He may need a bit of guidance, but his eagerness to please makes him an ideal student.
*Java is heartworm positive, but don't let that deter you. With proper care and treatment, he can lead a normal, happy life. All treatment will be covered by GHHS. Until treatment is complete (average of 3 months) Java must remain in the Huntsville Metro Area. Adopters are responsible for getting Java to and from treatment. Please talk to staff for more info or apply at ghhs.org

Additional adoption info

Adopters must be at least 19 years old.

If you rent, you must have permission from your landlord and pet fees must be paid in advance.

If adopting into a family, we require all members of the family to be in agreement about adopting. For families that already include another dog, we typically require a meet and greet; this may be hosted on the GHHS property, or at the potential adopter's home.

Some animals may require a home inspection.

Verification of current pet(s) vaccine/vet records.
