My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

*Adonis is a courtesy listing. Here is what his caretaker has to say:

My neighbor died very suddenly last week, and I am fostering (and helping to place) her two absolutely WONDERFUL little cats.

Adonis (blue collar, last two pictures) and Peyton (He responds to 'Toes', first two pictures) are 2.5 year old littermates, raised in a loving home with a very rambunctious canine brother.  We are seeking to place them together, preferably in a cat-savvy home where they will be treasured and cared for as their Mom would have wanted.

They are both everything you could ask for in a cat: personable, goofy, attention-seeking, cuddly, and they enjoy being picked up and snuggled.  They are both neutered and UTD on shots (they are awaiting their distemper booster in 3-4 weeks, the cost of which is already covered), and have great litter box manners.
Both cats are black, but have white spots on their chest, and honest-to-god white 'bikini' markings on their bellies.  Adonis's paws are all black, and Toes has standout white toes.

I really cannot say enough about these two cats, and how perfect they are.  It pains us that we're not able to keep them ourselves.

The ideal home will keep them as INDOOR ONLY, as they have been their entire lives.  As I said, they have lived happily with a very energetic dog, so a household with a proven cat-friendly dog would be perfectly fine.  They have never lived with other cats, but are openly curious about our existing cats.  Potential adopters must agree NOT to declaw, and have good vet references.

There is a small adoption fee that will be applied to the cost of getting them vetted and UTD on shots, but they will come with all the supplies we have for them, including litter boxes and scoop, a little indoor cat house, cat bowls, cuddle mats, hard-sided carriers, and enough food for the first week, at least.
If you have questions, want to see more pictures or videos, or would like to meet them, please reach out to me directly. I can be reached here on Facebook, or you can call or text directly at 215-964-7662.

Thank you!

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!

Additional adoption info

We ask our adopters to fill out a brief application. We seek adopters that will provide a loving home for the life of the pet with proper vet care.

The Cat Shack adoption contract states that the adopter will keep the cat safe, provide vet care and will return the cat to the Cat Shack rescue if the owners find that they can no longer keep their pet.

The Cat Shack adoption fee is $75 and includes FeLV/FIV testing, vaccines, deworming, the spay or neuter plus any other medical issues needed. This often includes dentals and other expensive vet work.

More about this rescue

The Cat Shack is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization staffed by volunteers.

We keep all of our rescued cats until they get adopted and will treat all medical issues identified by our vets. All of our pets are fostered in the homes of volunteers and we utilize our adoption centers in the PetsMart in Whitehall PA, the Petvalu in East Greenville and and Petvalu in Quakertown to help us find homes for our rescued pets.

Our group also has a very active Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) program where feral cats are altered and returned to their original location to live out their lives without reproducing.
