My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bambi pet was brought in by a community member on November 16, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Prepare to be captivated - Bambi is here to steal your heart with her endearing personality and the sweetest eyes! True to her namesake, Bambi is a little shy at first, but if you give her a little time to warm up, she'll show you her affectionate nature. She loves to receive pets and attention and will even offer you kisses! Once she's comfortable with you, Bambi can have a little trouble controlling her excitement, so she'll benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. She already knows basic commands and is very treat motivated, so she'll be a great student! She would do best in a home without children under 8 years old, and if you have another dog in the home, make sure to bring them along to meet Bambi. Now, let's talk tennis balls - Bambi may not be an fetch fanatic, but she's mastered the art of chasing and batting the ball around like it's her personal treasure. Bambi is sure to charm you with her quirks, smarts and boundless potential! Ready to meet your new best friend? Grab a leash and collar and come by to meet her today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
