Don’t even consider underestimating this handsome devil because he happens to be one limb short. He’s a truly one-of-a-kind wunderdog who has no intention of slowing you down!

Kaleb is the definition of a “good boy”, and you’ll find yourself repeating that to him again and again as he gazes up at you with his gentle eyes. Equal parts lazy and crazy, Kaleb loves to snuggle up on the couch or in his bed for hours, but also needs enough mental and physical stimulation through the day to get comfy for chill time.

Nicknamed “KK” for “Kangaroo Kaleb”, this guys walk is more like a hippity hop, and melts the hearts of every person he passes on strolls, runs or hikes- he loves it all! One thing to consider however, is that due to his endless curiosity and A+ sniffer, he does need a little help from someone who is willing to work along side him in practising some structure and boundaries while walking. He may have the face of a CEO, but Kaleb still needs to learn that he is NOT the boss on walks. That being said, he loves discovering that he doesn’t have to make any of the decisions inside the home, and enjoys time spent learning boundaries and commands, and never confuses where the bathroom is (outside!).

KK is the life of the party and has never met a human he didn’t like. He loves kids and company of all ages (and boy do they love him back), and knows exactly what is expected of him when given the command to “be gentle”. Being the heartstopper that he is, K is also quite fond of the ladies and loves play time with most female dogs- with a proper introduction, of course! In true gentleman fashion, he tends to be quite submissive to female dogs, and can become nervous and uncomfortable around overly dominant dogs who play a little too hard. We love boundaries! With male dogs, however, there seems to be a bit of a history there and he showns warning signs with certain males, so that avenue has not been tested extensively. He has met some cats and doesn’t seem to have any intense prey drive, but with any dog who grew up in the streets, it’s important to stay cautious when introducing smaller animals.

This special boy is a dog who wants to live life WITH you- take him on long car rides, to the family gathering, or the cabin- just don’t take him in an elevator! (They’re spooky, can you blame him?) He would love a house with a yard, but if you’re active he doesn’t necessarily need it. More than anything he just needs a home that wants to love him forever in the way he deserves, and a person or a family who is willing to put in the effort to grow him, and reap the rewards of a life with an absolutely incredible dog.

If you feel you would be the right fit for Kaleb, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/

All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.

NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.

BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!

More about this rescue

At All Paws Matter Dog Rescue along with our sister rescue SOS el Arca, we are determined to save as many broken, abused, abandoned to die and neglected street and shelter dogs in Canada and Mexico as we can. Motivated by a deep love of our 4 legged friends, our mandate is to save and improve as many lives as possible. We have seen many tragedies and have witnessed the most horrible cruelties, but we know working together we can make a significance difference. Raising the awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering our 4 legged friends and through the love and support of our wonderful volunteers, supporters and adopters our hope is to rescue, heal and successfully rehome as many of these deserving souls as possible.
