Tyson A430021

Located At: Sonoma County Animal Services

Description: I am a neutered male, tan and white Pit Bull Terrier mix.

Age: I am estimated to be about 3 years old.

Weight: I weigh approximately 66 pounds.

More Info: I have been at the shelter since Nov 07, 2024.

Tyson is a friendly dog who loves attention and is eager to engage, greeting people with a wagging tail. Tyson has been working on his leash skills, as he is strong and was initially pulling in different directions. He’s comfortable being handled all over and has a playful side, picking up toys and engaging in tug. Tyson was responsive when asked to release the toy. Tyson met another male dog, and was initially tense, though tolerant of the other dog's less than polite behaviors. Tyson almost initiated play, though he was still unsure. Tyson would thrive in a home with continued training and socialization to help him build confidence and further develop his social skills.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
