Victory was rescued from the Austin City Pound in November, 2024, He is a very shy boy who has been on his own for some time. We are working with him and we can pet him--especially when we have given him a canned food treat! As of Jan, 2025 he does not allow us to pick him up. We are hoping! He is now neutered and current on shots and he tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV. We are looking for a special home for this guy--somewhere where he will be given time, love and patience to adapt. Adoption fee is $80 and an application is required. Go to mchs.rescuegroups.org--we will review and get in touch to set up a meeting time. You must be 21 to adopt from MCHS and a pet carrier is required at the time of adoption. Our address is 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

More about this shelter

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
NOTE: The Shelter address does not register correctly on Google maps. Our Shelter is east of the Charter cable office in Austin MN. This is off of Hwy 218 south - our shelter is east of the highway just off the eastern tip of Oakland Avenue. The official address is 101 22nd Street SE
