My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Birdie – Your Sweet and Loyal Companion!

Birdie is a stunning 2-year-old female Husky mix who was rescued as a stray in Spencer County just before the winter storm. Now, she’s ready to leave her past behind and find her forever family.

This sweet girl has been around young children and dog-savvy cats, making her a wonderful fit for a loving and active home. With her gentle nature and desire for a fresh start, Birdie is sure to become a loyal and cherished companion.

Are you ready to give Birdie the new beginning she deserves? Apply today at ITVrescue.org!

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
