Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We adopted Yoshi from another family in August 2024. They adopted her from a breeder in 2018 as a puppy but had to rehome her 6 years later because she started to display resource aggression, resulting in bites.
We decided to take her in as my partner and I are a relatively calm and patient couple. She did show some resource aggression for her food and me (she had bitten us before), but we learned her triggers and can usually tell when to give her her space or put her in her crate. Otherwise, most of the time she is a very calm and loving dog who loves to hang out on the couch.
The biggest reason why we decided we needed to rehome her is because she is terrified of going outside. We got her from a quiet suburban neighborhood and moved her to a busy major road and she hates being outside, even trying to resist going outside to use the bathroom. I truly don’t think that she can thrive being in a very busy neighborhood and would love for her to be in a quieter one, or one with a yard.
