My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

adoption donation : $999 for the pair

weight 19lbs and 28 lbs
Age: 3 years and 1 year

Romeo and Juliet showed up at a house in a rural area of northern Mississippi, emaciated and badly matted, and were turned  away. The next day they showed up at another house and their luck changed—the couple that found them brought them inside and called Wags, 501(c) 3 south of Tupelo.

Romeo and Juliet are a beautiful loving pair, most likely used for breeding Yorkie- poo puppies, and then dumped when they were no longer needed.
Today this gentle and sweet pair of dogs are happy and healthy and doing well in a foster home in the northeast. They have been vaccinated, spayed and neutered, groomed, and are now at a normal weight. They were both tested for heartworm and thankfully were negative.
They are definitely bonded, Romeo, the male poodle, looks for Julia, the Yorkie, whenever she is out of sight and they are never happier than when they are cuddled up together. They are gentle dogs and love to snuggle with their person, if you have room for both on your lap, that would be ideal!

Romeo & Juliet do have some separation anxiety so we are looking for a home with someone that is around a lot or willing to work with them as they adjust. They also do not have much experience walking on a leash and so we prefer home with a fence yard so they can just go out and do their business and come back in for cuddles. The pups are fine with everyone they meet and good with other dogs and cats.

Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter.

Additional adoption info

We prefer to do a FaceTime interview and ask for references, personal and Vet. It’s very important to us that an Adopter and the dog are the right fit. We have many wonderful dogs! We want to make sure we facilitate the right dog for the right family.
