Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Finn! This adorable, wiggly, and fun-loving pup is SUCH a good boy: fully potty trained, great on a leash, calm in the crate, quiet all night, and an absolute ACE at knowing when it’s time to sit quietly with a chew toy and self-soothe. He will be a great hiking or running buddy once he’s a little older. Low anxiety, super smart, and happy to meet all dogs and people, he sits to go out, comes when called, and even enjoyed a recent 8-hour car trip with zero drama.
You'd never know that until a couple weeks ago he didn't have shelter or food on a regular basis. With that in mind, the key to Finn’s heart (and continued amazing progress) will be STRUCTURE, exercise, and plenty of chew toys. He’s made great strides in a short time, but he is still pretty mouthy and tends to show his love by jumping up. All of this is totally normal, but means that it’ll take some work before he should be around young children or people unused to that aspect of puppy love.
Finn will be an incredible companion for outdoorsy adopters but he can also be alone for longer stretches quite comfortably – a great fit for active professionals.
Come meet our adoptable dogs on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm in the backyard at AARF's new location- 302 Thurston St, W-S. Go to AARFWS.org to view and apply for our AARF dogs. Information about the process is available on our website. Remember that we do not adopt more than a 45-minute radius from our facility in Winston Salem.
