Meet Azog, a GORGEOUS all white tom cat who was brought in as a stray and was not reclaimed. Azog came in with a pretty rough eye injury, that ended up becoming a draining abscess which we treated. He was very stoic when he arrived, but now he enjoys attention and has even started to stretch and "make biscuits" when staff gives him love. We think he is probably around 6 years old (our best guess) and uses the litterbox here at the shelter. He unfortunately is FIV positive. We are still trying to test the waters to see if he will be confrontational with other cats here, now that he has been neutered, so for now we recommend a home with other FIV positive cats, OR without cats at all. This could change if we determine he is predictably good with other cats as FIV is only spread by deep puncture wounds from fighting, etc. His adoption fee is $100 and includes his neuter, microchip, vaccinations and felv/fiv test. Applications may take up to 24 hours to be approved.
The adoption fee for a dog includes: a microchip, spay/neuter and bordetella, distemper and rabies vaccination.
The cat adoption fee includes: Distemper shot, spay/neuter and microchip.

Kendall County Animal Control is the county agency responsible for enforcement of the state statutes governing rabies control in domestic companion animals. The State of Illinois requires that all dogs are vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. Compliance with this law is monitored through the issuance of rabies tags for all dogs residing in the county. All dogs are required to wear their rabies tags when off of the owner's property. If a pet is lost, rabies tags also provide an excellent means of identifying your pet.
Kendall County Animal Control also enforces the county's ordinance that prohibits dogs from running at large in unincorporated residential subdivisions, investigates reports of animal bites, and will pick up contained stray dogs in unincorporated Kendall County during operating hours. Stray and owner released cats and dogs may also be brought to the facility during business hours. Cats and dogs are available for adoption at the facility.
