Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal.
The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. We rescued 15 dogs on this trip & Humphrey Bear was one of them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Humphrey Bear how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home.
Humphrey Bear & his friends were bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home.
Humphrey Bear is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet. His foster family will even see him kissing the other dogs. We know he adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. He gets along with everyone he meets & one of the nicest souls. He knows how to run the hardwood stairs in his foster home, knows his name. He will even stretch out just like a cat. He will paw his foster siblings with love & get on his hind legs for you to pick him up.
He adores being kissed & hugged by his foster mum who does this to him countless times a day. He will run up to her & sit next to her so she can pick him up.
The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. He now loves life in his foster home.
Humphrey Bear is a wonderful eater. He currently eats a clean diet of grains, raw proteins, fruits, vegetables & supplements.
He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. This he finds a lot of comfort in. He currently sleeps with his foster siblings or in the bed with his foster family. He can also be found draped over the back of the lounge or on it.
He is such a very innocent little chap who just wants to be loved & to make up for his past. He loves everyone & is so very sweet. He does amazing with being bathed & groomed & enjoys the hairdryer but not around his mouth.
He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash.
Did we mention this boy loves a good outfit.
Humphrey Bear rides in the car beautifully & has had many car rides with his foster family & being brought back to WA. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. Humphrey Bear as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Humphrey Bear where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them.
Humphrey Bear is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him.
Humphrey Bear has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & he is currently with his sibling in his foster home. He will be found snuggled up with his foster siblings. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard if it’s a free standing dwelling.
Humphrey Bear is roughly 14 lbs & he is roughly 11 months old & mini poodle. He has put on weight since being in the rescue. What he is mixed with we are not sure. We treated him for coccidia & giradia as we do with all puppies. Male, he is neutered by laser by our vets. He has had rabies, DHLPP, bordatella & dewormed. We do not over vaccinate our dogs so once their shots expire we only redo the rabies.
We have spent far more on Humphrey Bear with paying for him from a commercial breeder. Bringing him to WA with his travel costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering.
Humphrey Bear has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.
We were not there when Humphrey Bear was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Humphrey Bear friends & siblings he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Humphrey Bear potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.

Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
