My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shiloh is a 1 year old Pit Bull who weighs roughly 50 lbs. He has beautiful blue eyes and a white and brindle coat. He is Heartworm and Lyme negative when we tested him. He is a super sweet boy who was abandoned in a trailer in Berwick, Pa for 3 months with another female pittie, Bailey May. They are both very loving dogs. Neighbor was kind enough to feed them inside the abandoned home. He was cat tested and was very focused on the cat but he corrected well when he was told no. So he would have to safely and slowly introduced to cat in a home. We have an appointment for him soon to be neutered and our rescue will pay for that. We also microchipped him. He walks well on a leash . Rides well in a car. We did all core vaccines on Shiloh as well! He is a very sweet boy and deserves a loving home! They can be adopted together or separately. Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Inquiry can be made about a pet by emailing casey@rescuepetsservingvets.org and/or calling 570-441-0083. Application then emailed to adopter

2.
Interview

Vet reference check is done if they have or had previous pets and applicant is interviewed on phone as well to insure compatibility

3.
Meet the Pet

A meet and greet is set up with potential adopter and pet at a agreed upon location

4.
Home Check

Home visit is required to check the safety of the home where pet will be adopted into.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Owner completes an adoption contract and I visit pet within a week at the new home.

Additional adoption info

For now an application can be emailed to a person interested in adopting a pet until I can finish setting up website and links.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of volunteers that rescue pets with medical needs from a kill shelter. We treat them at our associated Vet clinic and make sure they are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. Pets are then put up for adoption and we try and match them with the right owners. We give special priority to veterans and we begin service dog training while pets are with us. Pets are fostered in our homes or at the Veterinary Clinic until homes are found.
