My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Tulip: A Shy but Sweet Bulldog Cross Looking for a Loving Home

Meet Tulip, a 1-year-old Bulldog mix who may be a bit shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she becomes an affectionate and loving companion. Tulip is looking for a calm and patient home where she can slowly build confidence and feel safe. While she may be reserved around new people, once she’s comfortable, she’ll happily shower you with love and affection.

Tulip is a bit of a character with a playful streak—she loves to interact with other dogs but needs a proper introduction to ensure compatibility. She also has a high prey drive and tends to chase anything smaller than her, so she’ll do best in a home without small animals or young children. Tulip can be a strong girl on the leash, so some continued training will help her become a well-mannered walking partner.

Training & Behavior Needs:

Tulip is a sweet, intelligent dog, but she will need an experienced owner who can guide her through basic training and help her feel secure in her new home. Here’s what you should know about her needs:

Shy at First: Tulip can be a little shy and reserved when meeting new people, but with time and patience, she will warm up and become very affectionate. She’s looking for a family that can respect her pace and allow her to adjust gradually.
High Prey Drive: Like many Bulldogs, Tulip has a strong prey drive and may chase anything smaller than her. She’s not suitable for homes with small animals or cats. Her instinct to chase could also apply to smaller dogs, so supervision is important until she’s fully settled.
Leash Manners: Tulip tends to pull on the leash, so she will benefit from continued leash training. With positive reinforcement and patience, she can learn to walk more politely and calmly on a leash.
Dog Socialization: Tulip shows interest in interacting with other dogs, but a meet-and-greet is required to ensure she gets along well with any resident dogs. She can be a bit selective, so a proper introduction will be essential.
Handling: Tulip is not a fan of being manhandled. She will let you know when she’s uncomfortable, so it’s important that her new family respects her space and boundaries. She’s not aggressive but prefers gentle, calm interactions.
Why Tulip?

Tulip is a sweet and loving dog who will thrive in a patient and understanding home. She’s the type of dog who bonds deeply with her family once she feels safe, and s

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an pre-adoption application. If that application is approved, the dog/cat must be spayed/neutered before it leaves our shelter (if not already done). If it is a puppy under 4 months old, we allow it to go home with the adopters under a foster care agreement until it is old enough to be returned for spay/neuter. Kittens are allowed to leave before spay/neuter is done, but they must be done within a certain time frame.
Fees: Dogs/puppies range from $150-300, depending on if they came in already spayed/neutered or if we paid to have that done.
Cats range from $80 - $140, though we often have deals on older cats or cats that have been there a long time.
Kittens are $60 with $25 refunded once it has been spayed/neutered.
All adoptions include at least the first vaccination, deworming, de-fleaing, microchip ID, and 6 weeks of pet insurance.
