My name is Chessie!

Chessie is about 7yrs old and has had quite a journey. She was previously owned by family friends w/ an energetic dog, which led her to spend much of her time hiding in their basement. When we first met her, she was understandably terrified for almost a week. However, once she got to know us and became familiar with our scent, she transformed into the most loving cat you could imagine!
It truly breaks our hearts that we cannot keep both Chessie and our other cat, Lily. Lily feels threatened by other cats and worries they might steal attention from her. If you have any pets—especially cats or dogs—introduce them slowly and gently. While she adapts well, she's still young enough to want to play. Chessie has an incredible reach on her arms that can surprise you!
Her coat is beautifully long and soft; while maintaining it helps keep her looking great, it's not always necessary. I adore her so much but feel it's best for both cats if they are not together.
