Begin the Journey of a lifetime by adopting. Journey is a 3 year old Terrier/Pit mix who has been in HSSM care since January 10th, 2025 after being picked up as a stray by local Animal Control. Journey is a shy but cuddly girl. She will go on a light leisurely stroll and prance the whole way, a pep in her step. After a few minutes she will lay down or simply stop walking, and would rather be in your arms despite her size. This sweet girl would benefit from a household that will allow her time to adjust to a new home. She is dog friendly, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and prevention, and will be spayed upon adoption. She is Heartworm positive, but don`t let that turn you away as our HSSM Wellness Clinic does discount treatment for adopters. The journey is yet to come! Come meet her today!

HSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.
Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait more than an hour (especially in the afternoons) so please be prepared.
