My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our amazing girl Anna! Anna is the sweetest girl, and will do anything to climb into your lap for a cuddle. She may be shy when you first meet her, but once she warms up, she loves nothing more than giving hugs and being close to her people.

As well as being a cuddle bug, Anna also has a super playful side, she is full of energy and will keep you smiling with her fun-loving antics. Anna is doing really well practicing her leash manners and adjusting to walking with a harness, she is learning how to be the perfect walking buddy!

Anna has a condition called Entropion. Entropion is a condition where the upper and/or lower eyelid rolls inwards, irritating the surface of the eye. Anna has had one surgery and is under going treatment awaiting Entropion surgery. Through it all, she has been a delight. Anna enjoys having other canine friends and may do well with a well-mannered male dog at home.

If you're ready to meet a loyal, hug-giving friend, Anna can't wait to meet you!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
