My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Legs!

Legs is a 2-year-old Doberman mix with a heart as big as his 60-pound frame. This playful and goofy boy was found as a stray with a leg injury, but now that he's with the rescue he's on his way to healing.

Legs is sweet, snuggly, and has a knack for making you laugh with his silly antics. He’s crate trained, house trained, and leash trained—ready to fit seamlessly into your family. He loves playing with other dogs and gets along well with children, making him a great companion for an active household.

While Legs adores his canine friends, he’s not a fan of cats and would do best in a cat-free home. His affectionate and fun-loving personality will brighten your days, and he’ll happily join you for adventures or cuddle up for some quality snuggle time.

Legs is proof that resilience and love can shine through even the toughest circumstances. If you’re looking for a loyal, lively companion, Legs is ready to run straight into your heart! Are you the one to give this amazing boy his happily ever after?
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 16, 2025, 10:22 pm

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
