My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Fawkes is a 6 month old, 45lb Lab/Pittie mix who was surrendered by his previous owners after being burned in a fire. Fawkes has been treated and is well recovered from his wounds however due to the severity of his burn, he will likely have some level of scarring for life. Because of this difficult start in life we will be extra considerate with his placement!

Foster Update: Fawkes is an absolute gem of a dog. If he didn’t have the scars to show for it, you would never know by his demeanor that he went through something so terrible. He is a happy, wiggly, playful puppy who is friendly with everyone he meets! He loves other dogs but is so far non-reactive to them in passing, just interested and hopeful for a new friend. He is very puppy in play, wants to wrestle, jump and mouth so if his future home has another resident dog they should be one who will tolerate this behavior well while he matures. He is energetic but settles down after a good play session and then is fairly easy going the remainder of the time, he loves to cuddle on the couch in the evenings. He is crate trained and does well for up to 5 hours but becomes quite restless and vocal if left for much longer. He is almost fully potty trained but may still have accidents during the transition to his forever home. He is very smart, affectionate and eager to please which makes him easy to train.  Fawkes’ ideal home would include a fenced yard with an active family who will take him on lots of adventures!

Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
