Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Togepi recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what her DDO buddy had to say!
"“Togepi, I choose YOU!”
I had the pleasure of a DDO with Togepi today - a laid back, absolute lovebug of a girl who’s just ready to show everyone how sweet she can be!
Togepi is 4 years old, ~60lb
Togepi’s unique name comes from Pokémon, whose ability is said to be “Super Luck” - I sure felt lucky getting to hang out with her today. This girl looks at you like you’re the only person on earth when she’s with you.
Other Pokébilities:
- Incredible Snuggle Power
- Hypnotic Eyes
- Unconditional Loyalty
- Fur Soft Enough to Put You in a Trance
- Bath Champion
- Impeccable Treat Location
We spent most of our day indoors because of the bitter cold, but Togepi was up for anything. She jumped right into my car with little coaxing or assistance - this girl was ready to hit the road! Once in the car she took a minute to settle and find the perfect spot but otherwise rode quietly and calmly, looking curiously out the window.
We snagged a pup cup and a few other treats and she was ready to brave Home Depot; while initially a little hesitant and needing some reassurance, she soon was sitting like a queen for pets from employees and patrons.
Next we headed to Sweetwater Dog Playground where this girl sniffed out her surroundings and chased a ball - we’re still working on learning to bring it back. Good news is, this girl is very treat motivated which should make training a breeze! She’s smart and I do think she’d enjoy it as well.
A bath at All Pets Considered was next - Togepi’s fur is so long and so soft; it was even softer after a good scrub and she tolerated her bath like a champ! We finished out the day snuggled up in the warm car to make sure she was nice & dry before heading back to GCAS.
If you think Togepi could “evolve” into the perfect addition to your family, please come and meet her at GCAS from 12-4PM any day but Tuesday! I think you’ll choose her, too!"
It's important for adopters to know that Togepi can jump a 4 foot chain link fence. She'd do best on leash or in a yard with a privacy fence.
As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.
To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
