Spruce could use a boost! The sadness of losing his people rang loud even from passing by his kennel. He sat drooling slumped over in confusion. Spruce is a big boy but seemed so small in those moments. He is doing a little better after a few days of adjustment. Spruce is happy to do his own thing when we take him in the yard. He is particular about treats and doesn't have the typical food motivation we see. He is at a healthy weight which is a small positive. Spruce just needs out of the shelter and back in a home. We wish we didn't see so owner surrenders but that is a waste of time. Spruce and his roommates deserve our full attention.

*Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL
*The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.
