**Meet Sugar Sweet**

Sugar Sweet is a bright, affectionate,dog who’s ready to bring her unique charm to her forever home. She’s as smart as they come, she's crate trained and skilled at "sit" and "stay." When she feels comfortable with you. Sugar thrives on a routine, letting you know she needs to go out by waiting at the door, although rainy or cold weather isn’t her cup of tea—she prefers to stay cozy indoors on those days.

This car-loving pup eagerly jumps in for a ride and is housebroken when kept on a schedule. Sugar adores toys with stuffing, enjoying playful moments as much as quiet ones. Though she’s a bit shy and cautious with strangers, once she feels secure, she becomes a loving, cuddly companion who enjoys hanging out in the background, observing her surroundings.
Sugar has a positive history with kids but would do best in a home with older children who understand her gentle, timid ways. While she has gotten along well with small dogs she knows, she's not comfortable being around them on leash so slow intros are best.

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
