My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Panda! Panda was a stray trying to survive with his two buddies on the streets in rural Texas for over six months. Fosters and rescues were found before an arctic blast hit. Panda was treated for heart worm and went to regular grooming appointments to get his skin and coat to the fluffy perfection it is today! And, with his ice blue eyes he is a show stopper. It was easy to see from the start Panda was a lover, not a fighter. He met no stranger—two or four legged. He lives for playing with dogs, especially puppies and females. He is amazing on car rides as he either sleeps or watches out the window. He will entertain himself playing with toys and, even with most of his teeth ground down from his previous life’s horror, he loves Yak sticks, bones, bully and collagen chews. Panda is a talker when you aren’t listening to him. He’s usually telling you he needs to go outside, he’s hungry, or ready to go play. For a street dog he trusts quickly. He’s never been around cats or children. He went to training camp where the instructor said he is so smart he plays stupid to get his way. Panda will do best in a home with another dog that will play with him and a fenced yard unless you continue to work on his recall training. He will spend all day stalking and keeping the evil squirrels from the yard. He forgets to do his business outside sometimes, because he’s caught sight of a squirrel. Because he can be a bit anxious when left home alone, he was put in a kennel for his safety which he was not crazy about but if other dogs are with him he was left free to roam. Because of his heartworm treatment, he doesn’t seem to have that crazy never ending husky energy a 2 year old normally has. He can play for hours, but will be ready for a nap and then more play time. He loves to be taken on walks and hikes, but won’t go swimming. You won’t regret making this boy a member of your family. Interested in adopting Panda? Additional adoption info

Our goal is to place our homeless rescues in permanent loving homes as they have already been abandoned once before by their former owners. We strive to place the appropriate dog in the appropriate home. Our application helps us to learn more about you, your home and your level of experience (if any) with this breed.

Once an application has been submitted, we ask that you please be patient. Husky House is run by volunteers that will try our best to get back to you in a timely manner. Please allow us several days to get back to you. We greatly appreciate your patience. Also please note, completion of this application does not guarantee an adoption.

1. Minimum age for adopter is 23 years old.
2. You must reside within a one hour drive from either NYC or Matawan, NJ. We DO NOT do long distance adoptions because we do home visits prior to the pup going to its new home.
3. We do not adopt out Siberian puppies (under 1 year of age) unless you have prior Siberian experience.
4. We DO NOT place in homes that rely on invisible/electric fence as the sole means of containment.
5. We must meet all household members either during the home visit or the meeting/adoption.
