Meet Licorice, a 6-year-old male cat with a sleek black coat and a sweet, slightly sassy personality. Licorice is a bit shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, his charming, playful side emerges. He’s alert and loves to observe his surroundings, and he’ll happily engage in gentle play or enjoy a cozy spot to relax.
Licorice may take some time to warm up, but with patience and a calm environment, he’ll form a strong bond with his family. He’s looking for a quiet home where he can feel safe and secure.
If you’re ready to give Licorice the time and space he needs, come meet him today at the MaryAnn Wright Animal Adoption and Education Center. He’s eager to find his forever home and can’t wait to share his love with you!
For current adoption fees, please see our website, www.metrodetroitanimals.org. Adoption fee includes: age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, ID tag, fecal / worming, basic physical and behavior assessment. Dogs (6 months and older) receive an occult heartworm test. For an additional $20, cats (12 weeks and older) can be tested for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) / FLV (feline leukemia).

Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit (FAMD) brings a little more love into the world by celebrating the special bond between an animal and their “person.” At FAMD, we don’t just rescue dogs and cats, we make life-changing connections with the people who adopt them.
We bring our passion and animals into the community with events that help bring together dogs and cats with loving people. And our outreach programs help promote education and animal welfare legislation locally, so that fewer animals have to spend another minute waiting for their forever home.
FAMD’s new state-of-the-art Animal Adoption and Education Center at 16121 Reckinger Road in Dearborn offers animals comfortable housing and medical support. It’s where our staff and volunteers work every day to make Metro Detroit a happier, more loving place for both two-legged and four-legged creatures alike.
