My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I am Nora, your soon-to-be favorite snuggle buddy. I am getting used to a lot of new things. At only 10 months old I have been through a lot in my life and take just a little bit of time to warm up to new people and experiences. Once I am comfortable with you, I am the best friend and side kick you could ask for. I love to play, but I also love to cuddle. I will require a bit more TLC and continued guidance. But I promise I will love you to no end!

I am currently enrolled in our Sit, Stay, Adopt Program which is a behavior program geared towards helping dogs who may need extra support pre and post-adoption. Please reach out to our Outreach and Behavior Coordinator, Emily Herr if you are interested in meeting Nora! herre@bloomington.in.gov

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Please come in and visit with our pets available for adoption. Once you find an animal you would like to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adoption survey and meet with an adoption counselor. We do require landlord approval and we do not adopt out animals to live completely outside. Our adoption fees are $75 for dogs and cats under 5 years old and $55 for those 5 years and older.

The shelter has very active volunteer and foster programs. Volunteers walk dogs and help with cat care. Fosters take young, shy and injured animals into their homes to prepare them for adoption. Learn more on our website and consider getting involved today!
