Meet Telge, a puppy like no other. He`s the perfect blend of sweetness and energy, ready to fill your home with joy and laughter. Telge is cuddly and friendly, always eager to snuggle into your lap or play a game of fetch. He`s gentle and mellow, making him the perfect companion for quiet evenings. Telge`s curiosity will keep you entertained, as he explores every nook and cranny of his new home. He weighs 34 pounds and is just now starting to learn about leash walking and needs your help with house training too. Despite his occasional clumsiness, his spirit is undeterred. He may be a bit insecure and needy, often whining for attention, but that`s because he`s full of love and affection. He can be jumpy and submissive, but that`s part of his charm. We haven`t seen him interact with dogs or children yet but he is interested in his fellow shelter canines. Telge is a loving puppy who needs a family that will give him the love and patience he deserves. Adopt Telge and let his love fill your home. (tw 1/18/2025)

Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

Dogs
A second dog or puppy, adopted within 30 days of the first adoption receives a $20 discount.
Dogs (over 15 lbs) $105

Seniors for Seniors - Special Senior Citizen (60 yrs +) No charge for an animal 7 yrs or older.
Military Families - 50% of adoption fees waived for military personnel and veterans. (proof of eligibility required)
Any dog/puppy adopted at the same time as a cat/kitten will be adoptable at a $20 discount.

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
