My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gus is a 6-year-old boxer pittie mix, he's a beautiful brindle potato of a dog. He loves people so much and shows his love by jumping up and giving kisses. He would do best in a home without any other animal or young children given his excitement and strength. Gus needs helping losing some weight and to give him the exercise and attention he needs to be his best self. Gus is being rehomed due to the fact that his past owner will be moving in with his partner who has several young children. That along with the fact that they don't have enough time to devote to Gus as he deserves, led them to rehome him.
Gus would love to cuddle with you on the couch and be your best friend! He’s fully crate trained but can also be left free in the house and he won’t misbehave. His past owner worked very long hours, 6 days a week so he is used to being along for 8-10 hours a day. However, we would love for someone to be able to fully enjoy this sweet guy and want to be sure he will also be getting the exercise he needs to live a long and healthy life!

Gus is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and sterilized and will come with his medical booklet.

Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things!

Additional adoption info

We do regular follow ups and virtual home visits before the family meet the dog. :)

Go meet their pets

We are presently foster based so the meetings will take place where the dogs are being kept and that way the potential family can also discuss the good and bad habits of that dog to see if it's the right fit. The families need to be willing to work on a behaviour if it needs work and to provide the appropriate time and patience for the dog to accllimate to it's new home!

More about this rescue

We are a small shelter with lots of experience with dogs and rescuing. I worked for a larger shelter in the past but didn't always appreciate the way things were handled so I decided to branch out in a smaller scale but with all of the wonderful contacts and information that I've learned in the past decade + of doing rescue! Dogs are my passion and I would love to place as many as possible in their loving, furever homes!
