Tinsel, also called Tinny, is a special girl, and she is going to need a special adopter.
Tinny was running loose for months down in North Carolina with another dog. Animal control and residents tried to catch her and were unsuccessful. The male with her was caught a little over a month before her puppies were born. So this poor girl was all alone, hungry and pregnant.
On December 21, 2024, a local resident saw her laying near a bush and went to see if she had been hit by a car and found her with puppies. Because of the puppies, she wouldn’t move. The resident placed a blanket over her and her puppies, as is was going to get in the 20’s that night.
She called AC, and in the morning when they came to get her, she was still laying under the blanket with her 9 babies.
Tinny is sweet as can be, but fearful. To adopt her, you will need great patience to earn her trust. You must also have another dog in the house. The pack at the foster home has been very good for her.
A secure fenced in yard is also a must to keep her safe. No cats, as she is not a fan of her feline foster sibling.
Tinny is heartworm negative and will be spayed on March 3. She is estimated to be between 1-2 years old, and she weighs around 45 lbs.
If you think you are the person for her, please apply at puppypawsrescue.org.
If you are approved, we would like for you to visit with the foster family multiple times. This is to help Tinsel with introductions, and for her to get her use to you before taking her home. She is fostered in Millington, MD.
